Recycling at Rusthall St Paul’s School

crisp packets are a triple win: they raise money for the school, are saved from landfill or burning, and are made into useful things like benches.

I’ve learnt that no one is too small to make a difference.

The children of Rusthall St Paul’s school are fantastic, avid recyclers. Here is a reminder of the items they can collect for recycling.

  • crisp packets of any size and brand, including the outer bags.

  • Pringles tubes, including the foil seal and outer lid

  • Beauty items, including roll-on deoderants, lipsticks, pump and trigger sprays

  • Used stamps

  • Foreign Currency

  • Clean, bagged good quality clothing

  • Old or broken tech, including phones, tablets, cameras, watches, sat-navs (but not laptops, computers, sky boxes, home phones, DVD players, printers, modems, routers or personal grooming items.

If in doubt, please email fors@rusthall-cep.kent.sch.uk or visit our Facebook page ‘Rusthall St Pauls FORS Recycling'

Our recycling bins are situated at the top of the school drive. Walk up, turn right and you will see the bins against the fence. Open 8am-6pm on weekdays. During the school holidays if the gates are open, the bins will be accessible.

Since they began their recycling schemes, the children have raised over £350 and are using the money to provide a recycled plastic bench for use on the playground. This will last for many years and show the children the benefits of recycling items that would normally go into landfill or be incinerated via the usual rubbish disposal.

A huge thanks to the children and the Friends of Rusthall School for supporting their community and helping to make a difference to the environment.
